Les Grands Moulins ...
Les Grands Moulins is a rather well known Urbex location I visited some time ago.
It was a factory that turned grains of corn into flour, build in 1921 and employed 200 workers during its highdays. In 1989 it closed definitively. Several ideas to reuse these premises have occured but until this day none of them saw daylight.

The Prison, H15 ...
A few days ago we explored H15, a former abbey that was converted to a prison. The first inmates arrived in 1822. In the highdays this prison, as sources mention, had a capacity of around 1000 prisoners. This place is so big that we needed several hours to explore it and we didn't even see everything. In 2011 H15 was closed and abandoned...

Urbex in France, part 4/4 : Sanatorium Delirium
The final part of our trip to France, Sanatorium Delirium. A huge place we barely visited due to lack of time. But here are a few shots we were able to grab...

Urbex in France, part 3/4 : Sanatorium de Dreux
We started our second day in France by visiting the Sanatorium of Dreux. Again a place constructed in the 1930's and had a capacity, during its best days, of 750 beds. This is a huge complex, but sadly enough left in ruins. Parts started closing in 1956 and most of it was closed in 1980.
Nowadays it is used as a training area by the Firebrigade, the Gendarmerie and le Raid ( French Police elite unit : Recherche, Assistance, Intervention and Dissuasion)...
For the previous parts of our French trip and the Fuji stuff we used I refer to following links :
Part 1 : Part 1/4, Japville Factory
Part 2 : Part 2/4, Fleurs de Ruine

Urbex in France, part 2/4 : Fleurs de Ruine
This is the second part of my Urbextrip to France, Fleurs de Ruine...
This place was a sanatorium build in 1933 and was used as a place to combat TBC. During the second WW our German friends took control of the place and turned it into a "Centre de séjour surveillè", a nice name for a camp where approximately 1500 persons were interned.
In 1946 the fight against TBC starts here again but the building we visited, "Les Peupliers", closed its doors in 1975. Since then nature started regaining the place.
About the gear I used I refer you to my previous posting :

Urbex in France, part 1/4 : Japville Factory
Last weekend we headed for France to visit 4 places I had located. This is part 1 of 4, the Japville Factory...
This little factory was build around 1930 and is supposed to have been in business until 1980. Here they produced an oilseed cake, this being a baseproduct in aliments for animals. The name Japville comes from JAP ( Jacques, Angèle & Paul ) the 3 persons that runned this factory.
On this trip I decided to travel very light, taking only my Fuji X-E1 with its 18-55mm kitlens. I didn't even bother for my tripod, just cranked up the ISO to 1600 and sometimes beyond that. All images were shot in RAW by the way.
