Spring-tide on Friday the 13th...

Hearing the weather forecast for the 13th of January 2017, the storm Dieter is on it's way and the worst spring-tide of the last 50 years will happen, I decide to take the day off and head for the Belgian Coast to witness and photograph this storm. Coastal towns are preparing themselves with seawalls and sandbags to limit the damages that will be caused by the seawater. The Governor of West-Vlaanderen himself urges the population not to come to the seaside and there will be an interdiction to be on the sea-dike and beaches.
On the last moment the wind changed direction and thus preventing the waves to hit the coastal line straight on. The spectacular spring-tide did not happen on Friday the 13th but I stayed there and still took some nice pictures of a stormy day on the seaside...
Gear I used this time was the Fujifilm X-E1 and the Fujinon XF 18-55mm.

Lat weekend I hooked up with Carolien at de Vismijn ( fish auction ) of Ostend to grab some shots of her in these cold and early hours ....
All shots with the Fuji X-E1 and the 18-55mm. Off camera flash was used to give more impact on these images.

In the name of the Lord...(and the X-E1 got baptised too)

Last Sunday I was taking a stroll along the beach of Ostend when suddenly I noticed a group of people...

Curious as I often am I approached this group and took some general pictures...

Then I asked one lady, closest to me, what was happening? It was a baptism she told me. I asked the man in charge if it was ok for them if I took some closer pictures during the baptism. You are very welcome to do so was his answer...This group was the "Eglise de Jesus Christ de l'Esprit de Verite BIMA" an organisation founded by the apostle Prophet Bolia Inzola in 1975...

Three men went into the sea and called the others. I didn't hesitate very long, of went my shoes and I stripped my trousers up and joined them in the water. The group was ready for the event, as was the lifeguard...

And in they went...

After that they asked me to take a groupshot, a request I was happy to oblige...

All the pictures where taken with the Fuji X-E1 and the 18-55mm kitlens. This time I wish I had the 18-135 and getting less wet as a result. So if anyone at Fuji should read this...I would gladly test the 18-135 :)

WWW of "Water, Wind en Wolken" is de naam van mijn nieuwe reeks gewijd aan de voorvernoemde elementen. Soms met méér van het één en soms met minder van het ander...
De volgende beelden zijn genomen aan onze Belgische kust, meer bepaald in Oostende, Raversijde, Nieuwpoort en Blankenberge. Maar dit is het begin slechts, meer woorden maak ik er niet aan vuil. Laat deze beelden maar voor zichzelf spreken...maar dit is mijn Magnus Opus tot nu toe !!!!
