Only the décor remains, former Belgian military camp in NRW part 2 : Camp H

The second place I visited was another former Belgian military camp, also known in the Urbex community as Camp H. Build in 1946 (?) and left behind in the early '90s there is not much left than decay and rubble.
As usual Fujifilm X-E1, the XF14mm, a tripod and for some pictures ( cellblock and theatre ) an offcamera flash ( Nikon SB700).

To end 2016 I finally visited 2 former Belgian military camps in NRW (Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany).
This camp was in use from 1948 till 1995 and is sadly totally trashed. A part of the camp has already been reconversed for some firms but a great part still remains abandoned ...

The second village I visited after Borschemich, see Only the décor remains, Borschemich ... was Immerath. Same story here, they have to move for Garzweiler2. A few inhabitants still live here but eventually they will have to leave. A part of the village is already destroyed, the local hospital for example. A vast sensation of solitude and desbelief gets hold of you if this is a first visit. Everybody (almost) moved and left the décor of their life behind . Strange ...

On the verge of destruction...

In Germany, just across the Belgian and Dutch border lies the region Nordrhein-Westfalen, ...

That particular region is very known for its mining industry of brown coal, a proces that happens above the ground. Once the coal layer has been scraped away the mine has to expand. The villages that are in that expansionzone are being completely bought up and the villagers are "umgesiedelt" or resettled. And the houses? They become ghosttowns that will be completely destroyed within a few years. It is one of those villages, on the verge of destruction, that I visited recently. Perhaps 20 houses remained, dispersed in 4 or 5 streets...

Sad but true, these parts of history have to disappear for the benefit of industry....
