Visiting dark places with Miss Sien

Some time ago I came in contact with model Sien and we agreed to do an Urbexshoot in a place that I felt was ideal for her fragile figure.
So we hooked up last Sundaymorning rather early and drove up to the location. After being perhaps 150 meters in the first part of the premises we got "busted" by a very angry man who was fed up of being confronted with vandals and drug addicts who trash the place. We stayed calm and explained him we had no bad intentions and he relaxed and finaly even told us where the better spots were to take pictures.

Now on to the pictures, starting with the shot I had to have ...

Naturaly other images where taken ...

...and since I told her to bring her boyfriend along he could act as my assistant or HLS (Human Light Stand) as you can see in this BTS ...

As we moved along the buildings taking more shots ...

Images taken with a Nikon D600 and the Sigma 24-105mm, most of them in Strobist style. My other camera was a Fuji X-E2s with the XF50 2.0

Only the décor remains, former Belgian military camp in NRW part 2 : Camp H

The second place I visited was another former Belgian military camp, also known in the Urbex community as Camp H. Build in 1946 (?) and left behind in the early '90s there is not much left than decay and rubble.
As usual Fujifilm X-E1, the XF14mm, a tripod and for some pictures ( cellblock and theatre ) an offcamera flash ( Nikon SB700).

Only the décor remains, former Belgian military camp in NRW part 1

To end 2016 I finally visited 2 former Belgian military camps in NRW (Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany).
This camp was in use from 1948 till 1995 and is sadly totally trashed. A part of the camp has already been reconversed for some firms but a great part still remains abandoned ...
Shot with the Fujifilm X-E1, the XF14mm and a Nikon SB700.

Another lost Place

This time we explored some old Army barracks somewhere in Belgium, luckily not yet trashed and sprayed all over with graffiti! These barracks are not abandoned since there are still patrols checking this area out but it's in a great state of dereliction.
Here I approached this location in another way, using off camera flash to highlight some areas and simulate sunlight.
All images shot with an Fuji X-E1, the XF14 and an SB700...

Pascale and Paul got married...

Some months ago I was contacted by Pascale and Paul to see if I was interested to photograph their wedding. So we met to talk about their wishes, visit the venue, the church and other places where the coupleshoot could take place. This fine couple didn't want standard pictures of their great day so I decided to combine reportage-style shots (with no flash for the church ) with strobist shots for the couple shoot.
All images were taken with 2 Fuji X-E1 coupled with the XF35 and the XF14. During the eveningdance I had to switch to my Nikon D600 and the SB700 because here the Fuji did perform less.

Thank you Pascale and Paul for putting your faith in my skills to record such an important day !

Now on to a selection of the pictures...
